Gender Identity – Riley’s story

There once was a girl called Riley. When she was born, she didn’t look like other girls from the outside, and so, naturally, she was called a boy. In her childhood she accepted and believed this about herself and happily went along with it, although she very early began to envy other girls for looking the way they did and being called girls. She began to experience moments where she felt ashamed of her own body, even at a very young age. These continued throughout her childhood.
